REIDY WINS PITSTOP 50 AT TBAR

Danny Reidy has driven faultlessly to break a long winning drought at the Pitstop 50 at Hi-Tec Oils Speedway, Toowoomba.

Driving for Mitchell Motorsport, the Alice Springs raised-Queensland based racer started the long night qualifying 7th, then went on to claim a 3rd and 2nd in his heats.

Starting from the second row for the 50-lap feature, Reidy immediately superseded Jordyn Brazier to run second to Robbie Farr while Luke Oldfield started out of P4 before stopping to avoid a tangle between Bryan Mann, Brent Kratzmann and Jessie Attard that also balked Dylan Menz.

Lap 25 revealed the random draw for the Pitstop, with all racers parking on the back straight in front of the crowd for the 7-minute fuel stop, with Peter Lack and Brodie Tulloch the only drivers to elect to take new tyres in the hope of advancing through the field.

Meanwhile, the front runners had varied levels of tyre wear, all gambling on their ability to last the remaining 25 laps, and on the restart, it was immediately evident how conservative the drivers became.

Still in second, Danny Reidy made his move on Farr on lap 29 and the two traded blows for two laps before Farr made contact with the wall in turn 3 to end his journey.

Reidy wasnt headed for the remainder of the race while the attention turned to a cracker battle for second between Mitchell Gee who had started from the third row and Jayden Peacock who miraculously came from 16th, with Peacock stealing the runner up position on the last turn.

Reidy however drove to victory lane for the first time in two seasons since his last win at Sydney in 2015.

Man its been a long time between drinks, thats for sure, Reidy said in his typical understated fashion.

I feel like I earned this one, getting past Robbie before he had his incident. A big thanks to the guys and Peter and Lindy Mitchell for letting me drive this car. This is brilliant!

The Ultimate Sprintcars return to Toowoomba Good Friday for the penultimate round of the Queensland Ultimate Sprintcar Championship.
