TOOWOOMBAS BEST FAMILY NIGHT OUT REVEALS NEW SCHEDULE

Toowoombas Hi-Tec Oils Speedway has launched the 2017/18 Schedule today under the banner of Toowoombas Best Family Night Out!

Todays release of the 2017/18 Season Calendar has revealed a new strategy for building the Darling Downs fan base, while also offering support category competitors more opportunities for grass roots club racing.

The schedule has claimed six dates for the QLD Ultimate Sprintcar Championship as well as the return of the New Years Speed concept featuring the Super Sedan Summer Slam, making seven dates Showcase events, that will receive full promotion and production with the 40m2 Ultimate Video Screen and broadcasting on the Clay Per View live streaming platform.

A further four events will come under the Sportsman category, where support divisions will be given the opportunity to host rounds of their club championships or casual racing in a relaxed atmosphere where the focus is on the racers.

Events Manager Ben Bishop was eager to get the season started, confident that the clear delineation between the two types of events will build both the spectator base at Showcase events particularly with an emphasis on profiling local racers, and the competitor base at Sportsman events.

This calendar is primarily about the Toowoomba community and giving attention to the divisions that have bigger numbers in our city. We have eight Sprintcars, fourteen Modified Sedans and around twelve Production Sedans and Street Stocks in the Darling Downs Region that are all very competitive against the visiting teams, so we want to make sure they get the lions share of appearances at our showcase events so the local fan base can grow as they get behind the local stars.

He added that Showcase style events would also target a new audience with shorter, sharper schedules to keep with other sporting trends.

The sports-entertainment world has changed dramatically in recent years, with Crickets most popular format down to 20 overs, and Monster Jam offering just over a two hour show, while other sports are also building the overall entertainment package. Our Showcase events will be scheduled to start at 6pm and finish at 9.30, with the USC as the main drawcard and only two support divisions, helping us to keep the entertainment tight, while the Super Sedan Summer Slam will be top billing for New Years Eve along with Freestyle Motocross, Fireworks and a Demo Derby.

This will be the third season under the management of speedway entertainment group, Made Too Go Pty Ltd after taking over the Charlton venue in May 2015.

Made Too Gos first two years running the venue was all speculation, experimenting with what worked and what didnt. We experienced some successes and some failures, all in the name of getting a baseline to build from for our third year and into the future.
