FIRECRACKER WEATHER PUTS PRESSURE ON POINTS

Despite Robbie Farr claiming Ian Boettcher Race Parts QuickTime honours in qualifying, consistent misty rain road-blocked every effort to complete the running of the Firecracker 50 at Toowoomba's Hi- Tec Oils Speedway last Saturday night.

Fans were treated to some awesome sedan racing in the lead up to the V8 Dirt Modified hot laps and Ultimate Sprintcars qualifying, however the inconsistent rain was enough to prevent any racing, leaving the strong crowd and racers to tune into the Australian Speedcar Title at Valvoline Raceway on the 40 square metre Ultimate Screen.

"It was really frustrating for everyone, but everyone could tell we were doing everything we could to get the track back, but we switched on our "Big TV" and watched an awesome Speedcar Title instead which softened the blow a little at least," Ben Bishop, Events Manager said.

"From a racing point of view however, this really puts the pressure on the USC racers for our Good Friday event, as that will be the second last round of the series, before returning the next Saturday after Easter on April 2 for the Grand Final that doubles as our round of the USC Chase, so they'll need to make the most of their opportunities!"

The Speedway management and volunteers now turn their attention to the Australian Wingless Sprint Title on March 3-5 which is rumoured to be attracting around 70 entries.

"We have been working really closely with the Queensland Wingless club as well as the AWSR are to make this a really special event and we are all really looking forward to hosting what is set to be a great title."
